Bicycle Challenge Begins

We have now begun to draw our objects! To start mine off, I chose the wheel because there are two of them and I can just duplicate the first one.

I started off by created the hub with a few simple cylinders and a filleted edge. I drew the spokes using ArrayPolar but I realized after that this was not the best way to draw them in order to get them into the right spot.

For the spokes, I needed to have each one on an angle, with one end on the rim and the other ends alternating to each side of the hub. I started with one poly line as a spoke. The outside end of the line was centred with the rim, and then rotated vertically until it intersected through the centre of the cylinder on the hub.

I repeated this for the spoke that angles the other way, and the created an Array to create the rest of the strokes. I then just delete then extra lines that don't belong. I used the Pipe command the complete the spokes.

For the tires, I created a bunch of cylinders that represented the edges and then lofted them together. I the used the Pipe command with those cylinders to created the rounded ridges on the tires.

I finished off the wheel by building the washer and nut (not the entire bolt) that sit on the outside of the wheel.
